The recent drama “Loving†is approximately an interracial relationship and happens in midcentury rural Virginia, but there are no burning up crosses, white hoods or Woolworth surfaces. Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter, a white man and a black indigenous American woman kiss in public areas at a drag battle, and no one voices disapproval. Many white visitors stare and scowl. Nevertheless pair accept and laugh, unsullied.
